Introduction to Meditation & Mindfulness

Service Description
The greatest misunderstanding about meditation and the reason why so many people either don’t start, or give up on it and never fully develop the benefits of the practice of meditation is the misconception that you need to clear or empty your mind of all thoughts. Meditation is not about clearing the mind; it is simply about being in a relaxed state in which the mind is free of scattered thoughts or over-thinking. Meditation is form of mental exercise. And just as physical exercise increases health, helps us handle stress better and promotes longevity, meditation provides those same benefits. This 6 week course (1 hour per week) is a progressive learning experience, each week will build upon the techniques you learn in the previous class. YOU WILL LEARN: • The science behind the benefits of meditation and mindfulness. • What meditation and mindfulness is, what it isn't, how to do it and how to develop your practice. • How to be in a place of inner peace amongst the noisy confusion of life. This is a progressive learning experience, each week will build upon the techniques you learn in the previous class. ****** ****** ****** CLASS SCHEDULE: CLASS 1 - 13 OCTOBER - 6pm to 7:15pm Introduction to Meditation - Breathing techniques and getting in to the meditative state. CLASS 2 - 20 OCTOBER - 6pm to 7:15pm Introduction to Mindfulness and how to cultivate spontaneous moments of mindfulness. CLASS 3 - 27 OCTOBER - 6pm to 7:15pm Anchoring techniques - To help stop 'mind chatter' and quieten the mind from scattered thoughts and over-thinking. *** 3 NOVEMBER - NO CLASS *** CLASS 4 - 10 NOVEMBER - 6pm to 7:15pm How to deal with distractions whilst meditating CLASS 5 - 17 NOVEMBER - 6pm to 7:15pm How to disengage from emotionally charged thoughts and situations. CLASS 6 - 24 NOVEMBER - 6pm to 7:15pm Guided meditation. ****** ****** ****** *** PLACES ARE LIMITED - ADVANCED BOOKING NECESSARY *** Minimum 4 - Maximum 8 people Per Course You will be notified if minimum numbers have not been met.
Cancellation Policy
Please contact us 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment the fee cannot be refunded. If you have booked onto a course at The Synergy Centre and cancel part way through the course the fee is not refundable.
